About the Role
As a Field Crew Chief at Align, you would be responsible for leading field activities, and completing survey projects of varying sizes and complexity in accordance with the project scope and schedule. Field project tasks will include but are not limited to ALTA / NSPS Land Title Surveys, Aviation, Boundary, Horizontal & Vertical Control, Linear Route Surveys, and Topographic Surveys. This role reports to the Field Manager and will coordinate with Align Project Managers assigned to specific projects.
Field Crew Chiefs are expected to:
-Supervise field technicians to complete project assignments.
-Mentor and train field technicians on equipment and field procedures
-Ensure QA/QC processes are followed in the field.
-Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the Company’s strategic goals.
-Be honest and accept accountability for the work performed by the Survey Crew
-Maintain a positive attitude with co-workers and the public
Align utilizes the latest survey tools, including remote communications to and from our home office. Our team uses the latest robotic total stations (S7), electronic levels (Dini level), GPS RTK units (R10), Trimble Business Center, Version 5.52, (data-collection TSC 7 and processing software). Requirements
A 2-year degree preferred but not required
At least 2 years of relevant experience
Use of standard industry surveying software and field equipment
Ability to read road / bridge plans and interpret deeds
